Our History

I fell in
love with Mastiffs at my very first glimpse of an older girl at a
parade back in 1983. She looked as though she had had multiple
litters. Some people may have thought she looked broken down, but
there she was with children hanging on her neck, looking so regal
and beautiful! I never had the opportunity to learn her name, but
she changed my life forever.
We
started out with our first Mastiff in 1984. Her name was Pandora
(Ch. Deer Run’s Pandora’s Fantasy), and I was bitten by the show bug
immediately. Pandora’s first show was the infamous Bucks County
Kennel Club show, where she won her class under prestigious
Breeder/Judge Betty Baxter. At a later date, Betty wrote an article
about Pandora in the Molosser Magazine. At age 2 1/2, Pandora
finished her championship at the Bucks and Trenton KC shows with two
5 point majors. Alongside of Pandora, Warlock (Ch. Deer Run
Warlock’s Fantasy) finished his championship with his 3rd major, at the young age of 16 months. Pandora was the first Mastiff
to receive her Molosser championship, with her son Drago (Ch.
Fantasy’s Legend of Drago), later receiving his.
Pandora
was bred to Warlock to create a marvelous combination of the best of
English and American lines. This breeding created our Drago,
Mariah, Buddy, Magic, and Shaula. Magic was not shown, as her owner
preferred not to. Shaula was bred to Judah of His Majesty Mastiffs
to create some fascinating dogs as well.
We do not
breed often. Instead, we breed only when we feel that we can
contribute to bettering the breed. Our dogs have always been
owner-handled, and we are extremely careful about where our pups are
placed. Temperament ranks just as high as soundness and type. One
cannot be placed higher than the others when developing a line. Our
dogs all live together in the house. Some are segregated into
sections, so that we have a house left standing! All of our dogs
get along well together.
